We were excited to be invited to ride along with the Langford ES Bike Club for their field trip to Southern Walnut Creek Trail. After checking the bikes and loading up with water and snacks, we headed out on the trail. The kids really enjoyed the smooth path and the relative ease it provided for the journey. One reason was the good riding surface. Another reason was this provided a great chance to be looking in the trees and along the creek for wildlife. They could be heard yelling out when they spotted a bird, lizard and bugs so the other kids could get a look. They also called out every mile marker with pride, getting more excited with each mile traveled. After a quick stop for snacks and water refill, some of the group braved the big hill leading to the trail-head at Johnny Morris Rd. The riders were so proud to have made it the entire 8 miles! Took time for a quick picture and headed back. They soon figured out that the best part of climbing hills is going downhill on the return trip. Everyone had a great time and we look forward to working with Langford ES more very soon.

Quick snack break.
