We’ve got 12,000 pieces of candy, 1,200 reflective backpacks from Texas Department of Transportation, dental care packs from St. Davids Foundation so you can enjoy the candy and avoid the cavities, Cap-tivities activity books and stickers from CapMetro, coloring sheets and crayons from Get There ATX, Top 10 Nature Spots Maps from Austin Public Health and the Texas Children in Nature Network, and more goodies to enjoy Halloween night! We look forward to seeing your costumes and smiling faces!
Two years ago (!) on October 31st, 2019, Ghisallo Cycling Initiative hosted a massive Halloween event along Boggy Creek called Trick or Treat on the Trail! We turned a section of the trail into a fun, spooky scene where kids in East Austin could Trick-or-Treat safely. We had over 20 stations set up with 20,000 pieces of candy, a Monster Mash Dance party, and a spooktacular “strut your stuff” photo stage. Over 600 reflective backpacks from TxDot were given out, along with dental packs provided by St. David’s Foundation.
Last year, we got creative and decided to bring the Trick-or-Treat to the doorsteps and front yards of East Austin households safely with Trick or Treat Delivered to You! We double up, and over 1,200 Halloween Party Packs were delivered by bicycle by 50 volunteer Candy Couriers.
